Answer selection questions
A precise title, consistent photos and essential specifications help shoppers confirm the product is right. For clothing, dimensions and fit may matter; for a technical accessory, compatibility is central. Organise information around the decision being made. A long specification list does not replace an explanation of why those details matter.
Make variants explicit
A colour, size or configuration needs a visible selected state. Show what changes with another variant: photograph, availability or price. Avoid allowing an ambiguous preselected option to cause an unintended purchase. On a phone, check that choices remain accessible when the keyboard or another panel overlays the page.
Present conditions at the right moment
Shipping information, applicable charges and store policies should be accessible before the final decision. Do not write generic conditions that fail to match actual operations. Have responsible people validate the policies. A useful product page anticipates common questions and links to details without forcing shoppers to abandon their selection.
Test imperfect cases
Check an out-of-stock product, an unavailable variant, an invalid quantity and a very long title. The button should reflect what can actually be purchased. Messages should explain how to continue. Prepare both an example with multiple photos and a product without secondary imagery: both pages should remain coherent without hiding essential information.
Your checklist
- Decision-critical specifications easy to find.
- Visible variant selection and availability.
- Conditions matching actual operations.
- Tests for errors and unavailable products.
